Our clinic is qualified to remove ear wax for our patients. We normally request that (prior to the appointment) the patient apply a wax softener into the ear canal at least three days in advance of the removal. There are many formulated drops available at local pharmacies to soften wax, but even something as simple as olive or mineral oil will suffice. Placing a cotton ball into the ear canal after applying the softener before bed will allow the wax to absorb it, and ensure the patient receives painless wax removal. Sometimes a return visit is required to eliminate all existing wax. There is a nominal fee for ear wax removal.
